Liu Thinks You're a Nationalistic Chauvinist if You Don't Like His Idea of Forcing U.S. Taxpayers to Deficit Spend on Education for Illegal Aliens.
Goodwin Liu wrote a Chapter in the ultra-liberal book, "The Constitution in 2020," and argued in favor of doubling federal spending on education and extending it to illegal aliens. See, The Constitution in 2020, Ed. Jack M. Balkin & Reva B. Siegel, 2009, at pages 130-31.
Goodwin made several education policy proposals in his chapter of the infamous book and stated in sum: "These reforms will not be cheap. But even if we doubled federal spending in K-12 education, the federal share of school funding would still be less than 20 percent." Id. at 131.
Amazingly, he also said that those who think that U.S. Tax dollars should pay for education of U.S. children - and not for illegal aliens - were engaging in "chauvinistic nationalism." Liu stated: "We must be careful to ensure that the ideal of national citizenship does not infuse public education with nativism, cultural conformity, or chauvinistic nationalism. And we should not use the concept of citizenship to deny education to noncitizen children ...." Id. at 130.
Liu is not only wrong, but he unfairly attacks his ideological opponents. In these difficult financial times it is bad enough that Liu wants American Taxpayers to foot the bill for educating citizens from other nations who are in America illegally. However, Liu ads character insult to financial injury when he demonizes those who disagree with him and calls them nationalistic chauvinists.
Liu possesses neither the judgment nor the temperament to serve as an Article III Federal Judge.
